Celebrate Spring Migration at the 2025 Shorebird Festival

Every May, bird enthusiasts, nature lovers, and curious travelers flock (literally!) to Homer, Alaska for the Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival—and 2025 was one for the books.

From May 8–11, Kachemak Bay came alive with the songs, flutters, and vibrant presence of thousands of migrating shorebirds. With over 25 species including sandpipers, plovers, dunlins, and even the iconic Western Sandpiper, the skies and shoreline were teeming with life.
